Playing Enslaved makes me realize that what I like about good video games is what I like about good movies or TV shows — good characters. The well-written, well voice-acted ones can make up for a lot of whatever else may be lacking, and for the simplest of reasons: They are with you every second you’re playing.

Enslaved’s plot starts really strong, and it ends pretty strong too. In between it’s mostly filler, but the characters are so good and are constantly in convincing dialog with each other to the point that I forgot the plot and just kept pressing forward because my virtual comrades needed my help. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

I’m a sucker for any game that borders the “adventure” category, and tells a decent story. Enslaved totally did that for me. There is plenty of action/fighting in the game and the controls are decent enough to enjoy it most of the time, but you’ll be playing the game for the enjoyable story and beautiful environments.
